Alamo Wins Outstanding Chapter
The Alamo Chapter earned
the 2004 Wetekam Award for the Most Outstanding Chapter in the
Large Category!!!
The Alamo Chapter had an amazing year while expanding membership
from 67 to 108 members - now ranked #5 worldwide! The Chapter
hosted 7 professional development luncheons, including a Senior
Leaders panel with over 130 years of logistics experience on the
panel, and a Logistics Transformation briefing from the Air Staff.
The Chapter also presented 3 enlisted logisticians with
scholarships worth $200 each, reaffirming the chapter's dedication
to personal education, furthering the mission of the US Air Force.
Members of the Alamo Chapter also volunteered for 2 community
services projects for Boysville in Converse. The chapter rounded
out their year with 2 commercial tours of Boeing at Kelly USA and
Lockheed Martin, Fort Worth. The Alamo Chapter also submitted a
successful bid to host the 2006 National Conference in San
Antonio! Congratulations Alamo LOA!

Pettit Wins Saunders Award
Maj Tim Pettit
garnered the Maj Gen Mary Saunders Award for Chapter Distinguished
Service for 2004! Maj Pettit, pictured here with his wife, Coeann,
served as the Alamo Chapter's East Vice President and worked on
key projects such as professional development luncheons to include
Space Shuttle Accident Investigation, BRAC, AFMC/CC Perspective on
Logistics, and LEAN Logistics. He was cornerstone to two
fundraising projects and assisted with an amazingly successful
chapter golf tournament - all contributing to advancing the
chapter's officer/civilian professional development programs, as
well as funding a donation of $500 to the LOA National Enlisted
Scholarship Fund. Maj Pettit was recently elected Alamo Chapter
President for FY05! |

Derry Wins Scholarship!
MSgt Shaun Derry
was presented with
one of seven National Scholarship Awards by The Honorable Dr.
James Roche, Secretary of the Air Force, at the National
Conference banquet, Thursday, 14 Oct 04, in Las Vegas. MSgt Derry
is a Command Weapons System Manager with AETC's Logistics
Directorate who manages supply assets and processes in support of
1,600 across 13 AETC bases. MSgt Derry was nominated by the Alamo
Chapter for his outstanding service to Air Force logistics and
commitment to advancing his personal education. |
