Shogun Chapter Update from Kadena
The loggies
of the 18th Wing were all welcoming the holiday season this year after coming
off back-to-back MAJCOM inspections in October and November. We showed them
what it takes to garner a 90.1% pass rate for our MSET and "Excellents" for the
18 MXG, 18 MSG and 18 WG for the PACAF UCI. Also, in the December Shogun
Chapter meeting, we said thanks to the outgoing executive council and to our
outgoing wing commander Brig Gen Jan-Marc Jouas, who was our keynote speaker.
The meeting facilitated our first joint-service LOA participation. Okinawa
provides a unique opportunity in that we are co-located with all of our sister
services. The Camp Butler Marine Corps G-4 staff, headed by Col James VanEtten,
Army garrison participation from Torri Station, led by Mr. Alfread Budris and
the Commander Fleet Activities Okinawa, led by Lt JG Timothy Grasmick,
representing the Navy were all present. All contributed to a new joint-service
LOA initiative started this year by the Shogun chapter. The future of the
Shogun Chapter will be not only bring joint participation but extrapolate that
to a joint membership, joint LOA council and ultimately form a joint logistics
organization.
