 LOA Vision
“A Professional organization devoted to promoting quality logistics, professional development of logistics officers, and an open forum for leadership, management, and technical interchange.”

Senior Leader Quote:  "I like to think of the Logistician as the Air Force coordinator.  We make events go off without a hitch and are ready at a moments notice to fix snags.  But, it takes time and experience to develop the skills to carry out a flawless mission.  LOA brings together the experts and teaches new generations the art of being a logistician. A critical art in today’s Expeditionary Air Force."

A Message from the LOA President:  Wow...Thanks 1st Lt Victoria Davis, I couldn't agree with you more.  Thank you for your involvement with LOA as the President of the Sandia Chapter.  Your involvement and that of all the LOA members continues to make LOA what it is today...one outstanding organization!  As we continue our fine tradition of LOA being LOA, it is time for you to consider running for a position on the LOA Executive Board.  During the first week of April, IAW the LOA Guidance (LOA G-4), I will appoint a nominating committee consisting of a chair person and two members that will need to be approved by the Executive Board.  The nominating committee will in turn accept nominations for each elected office.  So...watch for the announcement and consider running for a position on LOA National Executive Board!

LOA History:   MOA & LOA National Presidents Series:  Lt Col Larry Matthews, 1982
Lt Col
Larry Matthews is renowned as the founding father of the organization that has become the Logistics Officer Association.  As the Maintenance Officer Association’s first president, it was largely Lt Col Matthews’ vision that motivated the other founding members to recognize the need for and to create a professional development organization for Air Force maintainers.  A core aircraft maintenance officer, Lt Col Matthews led the formulation of MOA and drafted the 1981 Magna Carta that put in place its foundation.  To help spread the word, he published the first MOA Newsletter in 1982.  Lt Col Matthews’

contributions to our beginnings cannot be overstated.  By the end of its first year, MOA had resonated so well within the Air Force maintenance community that it had expanded to 6 regions encompassing 3 major commands and included over 50 charter members!  Lt Col Matthews’ strong conviction and determination to see MOA succeed earn him a special place in MOA and LOA history.

Franchises:  Everyone needs a LOA coaster for their desk!  This stylish coaster includes Cork on the backside to keep from sliding, beautiful ceramic face with eagle engraving, bordered in blue by "Logistics Officer Association Est. 1982".  Cost for the coasters is $7 each and includes shipping and handling.  To see a picture of the coaster please go to http://www.loanational.org/merchandise.asp.    For additional information, or to place an order, contact Capt Joe Ingram at joseph.ingram@robins.af.mil.

The Bottom Line:  As always, remember our organization is all about the troops.  Our focus will continue to be on training our replacements, and sharing ideas.  If you have any announcements you would like to be considered for inclusion in our monthly newsletter, please send in your completed inputs nlt the 5th day of the month to infoofficer@loanational.org.

Keep our deployed troops and families in your thoughts.
