The Looking Glass Chapter of the Logistics Officer Association brings together officers from all logistics disciplines and from all base organizations--all working together to develop tomorrow's Air Force logistics leaders. Offutt is named Looking Glass for the mirrored ground-based command, control, and communications missions that were flown under the now-deactivated Strategic Air Command (SAC). The missions’ inaugural launch was on February 3, 1961. From that date, a Looking Glass aircraft was in the air at all times 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for more than 29 years and was retired from service on 01 October 1998. | ||||
